TAS & APS Support Box 17 on 1099-MISC Forms

Accounts Payable and Trust Accounting financial software now supports printing of the state payer ID number in Box 17 of the 1099-MISC form. This new feature will be a welcome change to Wisconsin firms who provide 1099-MISC forms to their vendors and payees.

To facilitate this feature, we added a new Firm’s State ID # field to Firm Information in System Configuration. As a result, this new field is also available in Tabs3 Statement Designer and Email Templates, as well as PracticeMaster Report Writer and Word Document Assembly. You can read all about this new feature in Knowledge Base article R11756 – Printing the State ID on APS & TAS 1099-MISC Forms.

We will be emailing all Wisconsin firms on November 6th about this new feature so they have time to update the software before they need to process their 1099 forms for 2017. If you work with firms in the Wisconsin region, plan on following up with them to make sure they are aware that this modification to 1099 forms is now available.

This new feature is available in Version 18.1.4.878 and later, which is now available for download.

Tabs3 Connect Subscription Option for PracticeMaster Only Firms

Earlier this year we added a Tabs3 Connect subscription option for PracticeMaster only firms and these were initially offered at no charge. At the time of the announcement we stated that these would be free of charge until December 1st, at which point we would begin charging the same amount as Tabs3 Billing subscription licenses for anyone wishing to continue its use. A decision has been made to not charge for Tabs3 Connect PracticeMaster only subscription users at this time. Should this decision change, we will provide at least a 90 day notice to you and your affected customers.

Save the Date for the Forum!

Mark your calendar – dates for the 2018 Forum are set! The Forum will be held Friday April 20, to Saturday April 21 at the Embassy Suites in downtown Lincoln. Take this opportunity to learn more about Tabs3 Software, share ideas with fellow consultants, and meet a large part of the Tabs3 staff. You’ll be glad you came!

Do you have an idea for a session you would like to attend, want to present one of your favorite topics? Submit your suggestions to Myrna Johns at [email protected].

New & Improved Taskbill Documentation

We are pleased to announce that we have updated our Taskbill documentation. Previously, instructions for each Taskbill format were in separate documents. Now, all instructions have been combined into a single, easy-to-use Knowledge Base article. Although you still have access to the online help provided with Taskbill, this new article includes everything you need to know in one place.

In Knowledge Base Article R11737, “Configuring and Using Taskbill,” you can now select the Taskbill format instructions you want to view from either a list of known organizations, or by the name of the format. Once a format is selected, tailored step-by-step instructions with screenshots are displayed that walk you through how to configure the format in both Taskbill and Tabs3, how to enter time in Tabs3, and how to export statements from Taskbill using the selected format.

Take a quick look at this new article so you are familiar with it when you need it!
