When downloading an update for Tabs3 software from our download page, firms will now need to enter a Contact Name, E-mail Address, Zip Code and Serial Number. The Zip Code field was not required previously. Download pages for Versions 15 and higher will be affected by this change.

New “Copy All” Feature

We recently added the ability to copy all records from any list to the Windows clipboard using Ctrl+Alt+C. Although Ctrl+C copies all selected records, there previously was no way to copy all records from lists that did not allow more than one record to be selected. This new Copy All feature works on all lists, and is available in all Version 17.1.1.807 or later products.

We recently made minor changes to shipping costs to adjust for price increases by UPS. Below are new shipping costs for COD and prepaid letters. Please contact a member of the Sales Department at 402-419-2200 to verify prices such as any order containing multiple CDs or conversion instructions, Saturday delivery, or shipping beyond the lower 48 states.

Did you know that the IRS changed the 1099-MISC forms for 2013? As a result, we recently made changes to the Accounts Payable Software (APS) and Trust Accounting Software (TAS). This means that firms must update the APS and TAS software in order to successfully print 2013 1099-MISC forms.
- Version 16 users on maintenance can download the updated programs by selecting Help | Internet Resources | Software Update. Firms must have Version 16.2.4.519 or later.
- Version 17 beta users must have Version 17.1 installed and can download the updated programs by selecting Help | Check for Updates.
For laser printer forms, we recommend ordering 1099 Forms from Nelco®. These forms are guaranteed 100% compatible with the APS and TAS software. Nelco has over 50 years of experience in the business forms industry. You can order by calling 1-800-266-4669 or go to www.nelcosolutions.com/tabs3.

Version 17 Platinum systems use version 10 of the Faircom server. Beginning with version 10, Faircom no longer issues and uses activation codes. Instead, server systems now include a license file. The license file is included on our production CD and download files. Since the license file is specific to each system, users no longer have to activate the server or enter an activation code. As a result, we no longer include activation codes (i.e., labels) on the CD case. This simplifies the installation, and makes the license information transparent to the end user.
We just posted a critical update today that fixes an issue where payments are being overstated by the amount of the finance charge on Cover Statements, which also affects the balance due shown on Cover Statements. The payments and balance due shown on the regular statement are correct. The accounts receivable information in Tabs3 is also correct. This issue was introduced in the November 15, 2013 release.

Have you seen the new Price Estimator on our web site? Check it out! We’ve simplified pricing for prospects – making it easy for them to determine costs. We show prices applicable to their firm size, and even break it down per month for each timekeeper for the first year, and subsequent years.

Who’s excited about Version 17? Beta is planned for September 26. Clients who have signed up for beta will receive email instructions for how to download the update when the download becomes available. Certified Resellers will also receive a copy of the email to clients.
To assist resellers in learning about Version 17, recordings of recent reseller training sessions are available online until end of day, October 21st. The standard ODBC driver must be updated for all Platinum (not Platinum SQL) users as they update to Version 17. A separate update CD for the ODBC driver will be shipped to Platinum firms with the ODBC driver(s). In order to maintain your ODBC functionality, please update Tabs3 and PracticeMaster Version 17 (including Version 17 beta) and your ODBC driver(s) at the same time.
