Synching Maintenance Dates

Occasionally we receive requests for firms wanting to synch maintenance dates for all the licenses they use. Doing so helps with budgeting and prevents confusion on their part if receiving maintenance invoices throughout the year.  With the release of Version 2020 and mandatory maintenance we expect this request to become more common. 

To request a custom invoice synching of maintenance dates, email [email protected] or call 402-419-2200 and follow the prompts to request pricing.  Keep in mind that maintenance expiration dates will change when upgrading any license.  Also, be aware that we cannot make adjustments to Server Software maintenance dates, so if you have a Platinum customer requesting a synch the custom invoice will reflect costs to match the Server Software maintenance expiration date.

Version 17 Sunset / Billing Rate Changes

Effective November 1st, the price for standard billable support time increased from $50 to $75 per quarter hour.  It has been over seven years since we’ve increased the price of technical support.

Also effective on the same day, we’ve sunset Version 17.  We will have a 60 day grace period for Version 17 firms interested in getting support.  During this grace period, callers not on maintenance will be assisted after providing a credit card, then transferred to Sales to receive an update quote.  After the first of the year we will no longer support versions 17 and prior for firms that are not on maintenance, with very little exception.  If they call for support they will be passed to a sales representative to receive an update quote.   

Trial Software is now Version 2020!

Tabs3 Trial Software has been updated to Version 2020. Anyone who downloads free trial software from our website will now receive Version 2020.  We are still anticipating its full release on November 4th.  Support reps are trained and ready to help, and we’ll be ready to take your orders!          

Tabs3 Billing Dashboard Drilldown

You asked for drill-down capabilities on the Tabs3 Billing Dashboard, and we’ve added them!

In the Platinum version, clicking a bar or total in the Accounts Receivable and Work-in-Process widgets will open a window with a list of clients that make up that total. Additionally, the amounts are broken down to show each client’s fees, expenses, advances, and more. Clicking on a client from that list will then open a Client Manager window for that client.

This new feature was added in Platinum Version 20.1.3.302, which was posted on October 17, 2019.

Sunset of Version 17 Reminder (October 31st)

Just a reminder that after October 31st we are no longer supporting Version 17 of Tabs3 software. In addition, on that same date we will no longer support firms on Versions 16 and older, even if they are on maintenance. Version 16 was sunset over a year ago but we have continued to support customers on older versions if they were on maintenance.

We have notified firms that meet this criteria via email so they are aware. It is brought to their attention when contacting tech support and reminders have been included in the monthly newsletter. We encourage you to identify these firms using your QBR and personally reach out to them so they’re proactive about updating. Also, the cost of technical support for non-maintenance firms will be increasing to $300 per hour effective November 1, 2019.

Test Mode for LawPay Demos

LawPay integration is available with the Version 2020 Pre-Release. To help you demo this feature to your clients, we’ve added the ability to use a LawPay test account with your demo system. All you need to do is request a test account from LawPay and then see Knowledge Base Article R11831, “Using LawPay Integration in Test Mode,” for more information on how it works. Also remember that LawPay is offering Tabs3 certified consultants a free LawPay subscription ($180/year value).

Note: You must be running Tabs3 Version 20.1.2.193 or later in order to use Test Mode.

Tabs3 and PracticeMaster Walk-Throughs

Not too long ago, members of our Training team began offering walk-throughs for firms interested in seeing Tabs3 and PracticeMaster software. This service has proven to be successful and many of you have been able to participate with these demonstrations. If you receive a lead for a firm signing up for a walk-through you’ll receive an invitation to participate. If you are able to attend we want you to take the lead with the presentation. We would prefer to be a hands-off moderator simply providing the meeting space and making introductions. This means you can use your own demo data set that you’re familiar with. The firm will be working with you going forward so it is your voice and expertise we want them to hear.

Update Sale Ending Soon!

Many of you have had success getting firms to update to Version 19.  If you haven’t sent anything yet, don’t wait any longer!  The update sale is scheduled to end September 30th which is just a few weeks away.  There’s never been a better time for your firms to update to the latest version.  Not only are firms paying a significantly reduced price, they’ll receive a full year of maintenance with their purchase.  In addition, you are now entitled to a discount on updates.

As a reminder, we will sunset Version 17 on October 31st which is all the more reason for firms to update.  Certified consultants were sent their QBR in July containing firms on older versions corresponding to three email templates that were also attached.  Feel free to create your own email template or use some form of what we provided.  Just be sure to send something!
